During my recent trip to Germany, I visited the Weihenstephaner Brewery in Bavaria. After a personal brewery tour, I had a meeting with Marcus Englet, the vice president of sales export. I was able to tell him about our Club and extended a thank you for all the support they have given us over the last 2 years. Australia is their 7 largest export market in the world and all beer imports are coming to Perth and are getting distributed by our local Importers Bier 1040. Thanks to Cellarmaster David Vieceli and his bar staff and volunteers we are the largest on-premises seller of Weihenstephaner Beer in Western Australia.
I would like to shout out a big thank you to Annette for putting together the successful application for a $466.000 plus GST Community Capital Works Fund Gant from the Office of Multicultural Interests for the renovation of our big hall. It is great to see that they believe in our Club and supporting us to make the necessary upgrades and renovations to remain a cultural hub for future generations.
We have formed a subcommittee regarding these works, and we will present our ideas and visions for the Edelweiss Hall and bar at the upcoming AGM on 25 May to our members for comments.
The car park wall has been painted now in a fresh coat of a natural grey. We are looking for Artists who can put a bit of life onto it. If you happen to know someone, please get in touch with the office.
The new Homepage is up and running and you can now renew your membership online.
This is a start and, in the background, we keep working on our memberships and constitution to allow us for a simple and smooth way of handling the memberships online in the near future.
We also investing in new computers for the office and a new smart TV for the Committee room. Furthermore, we are putting additional shelves in the kitchen and replacing a faulty freezer. I’m getting a lot of positive feedback about the kitchen service.
We had a good German Summer Party in February and Karneval followed by our German Beer und Wurst Fest in March. It was a delight to host the original German Oompah band Bayrisch Brass for that event. We made sure they felt very welcome and had a great time at our club. Thanks to Pamela, Maria, Debbie, and Trevor the Edelweiss Hall was lovely decorated and was filled with happy guest all night long. This event formed part of harmony week and was also supported by OMI with $2000. Also thanks to Frosty and Jeff who jumped in to help with cleaning and collecting the classes because it was so busy.
We are looking forward to supporting the SAGSE Black and White Dance Fundraiser on 5 April and some dancing and shooting during the May Dance and the Schützenfest in May.
I encourage all members to apply for committee positions and contribute to a successful future of our club. It’s also important that all full members try to come to the AGM on 25 May.
Während meiner letzten Deutschlandreise habe ich die Weihenstephaner Brauerei in Bayern besucht. Nach einer persönlichen Brauereiführung traf ich Marcus Englet, den Vizepräsidenten für Vertrieb und Export. Ich konnte ihm von unserem Club erzählen und mich für die Unterstützung der letzten zwei Jahre bedanken. Australien ist der siebtgrößte Exportmarkt der Welt, und alle Bierimporte kommen nach Perth und werden von unserem lokalen Importeur Bier 1040 vertrieben. Dank Kellermeister David Vieceli, seinem Barpersonal und seinen Freiwilligen sind wir der größte Anbieter von Weihenstephaner Bier im Außenverkauf in Westaustralien.

Die Parkplatzmauer wurde in einem frischen, natürlichen Grau gestrichen. Wir suchen Künstler, die ihr etwas Leben einhauchen können. Wenn Sie jemanden kennen, melden Sie sich bitte im Büro.

Dies ist ein Anfang. Im Hintergrund arbeiten wir weiter an unseren Mitgliedschaften und unserer Satzung, um die Mitgliedschaften in naher Zukunft einfach und reibungslos online abwickeln zu können.

Es war uns eine Freude, die original deutsche Blaskapelle Bayrisch Brass bei dieser Veranstaltung begrüßen zu dürfen. Wir haben dafür gesorgt, dass sie sich sehr willkommen fühlten und eine tolle Zeit in unserem Club hatten. Dank Pamela, Maria, Debbie und Trevor war der Edelweißsaal wunderschön dekoriert und die ganze Nacht über voller fröhlicher Gäste. Diese Veranstaltung war Teil der Harmoniewoche und wurde ebenfalls von OMI mit 2000 Dollar unterstützt. Ein weiterer Dank geht an Frosty und Jeff, die beim Aufräumen und Einsammeln der Klassen mitgeholfen haben, da so viel los war.
Wir freuen uns darauf, die Spendenaktion „Schwarz-Weiß-Tanz“ der SAGSE am 5. April zu unterstützen und beim Maitanz und Schützenfest im Mai mit Tanz und Schießen dabei zu sein.
Ich ermutige alle Mitglieder, sich für Vorstandspositionen zu bewerben und zu einer erfolgreichen Zukunft unseres Clubs beizutragen. Es ist auch wichtig, dass alle Vollmitglieder versuchen, zur Jahreshauptversammlung am 25. Mai zu kommen.
